Our Love Story

We do believe that two people are connected at heart and it doesn't matter what you do or who you are or where you live. There are no boundaries or barriers if two people are destined to be together. We all know that everyone has their own stories to tell and this is our love story…

HOW WE MET?

Marc and I took the journey in search for our one true love. Many years of finding the right person to spend the rest of our lives with, but we always end up with the wrong ones. Afraid of getting burned again, we spend years of waiting living a single life, happy and content by embracing the love we get from our family and closest friends. Later did we realize that our clock is ticking and we are not getting any younger anymore, our moms were all worried that we might end up being single.

We met in a very special kind of way that not all of us are lucky enough to meet the right person through the use of technology. Yes, I know what you are thinking. We met in an online dating website. In short, we are one of those few people who are in a Long Distance Relationship or others call it as LDR. Things were not as easy as it may seem because everything was challenge that we both have to take. Although, we tried to be like the normal couples who go on dating and stuff like that, but still it is difficult to deal with things that way it should be for couples who are in a serious relationship. It would take a lot of patience, understanding, loyalty, love, care, trust, and compromise for us to be able to cope up with the absence of one another because of the distance.

Well, I admit that I am a mushy kind of person and it is something that I can help it. I love romance, something romantic or sweet, or whatever you call it. It’s just that being “mushy” is so me and it’s feels like running through my veins and in my whole body system. My closest friends thinks it’s nice and sweet, but others who don’t know me thinks its smothering, annoying, and they just want to throw up, haha!

Out of curiosity, I joined an online dating website. I have seen all kinds of men with different characteristics and personalities that would give you better option if you’re compatible or not. Especially, if you are serious of finding your one true love on the internet, it's not going to be easy. There are so many things to consider, not only because have this special kind of connection, but how things would turned out when you finally meet in person.

In April of 2012, just few days before my birthday, while I was browsing random search and trying to get used to the website, I came across Marc’s profile. I read everything what he had written in there and I was like OMG, he is the kind of guy I want to get to know more. I find him pretty amazing because being a guy, who knows how to value his family and friends is very rare to find nowadays. In short, they are extinct, haha! Well, I gave it a shot. I send him a short message telling him, "I read your profile and you seem to be an interesting man. I thought I'd drop by and say HELLO. If you want to be friends, you could send me a message." I felt bad about myself for sending him that kind of message because it sounds like I am hitting on him because I sound too casual, haha! Well, I can’t take it back anymore because I already hit the SEND button. Anyway, I received a message from him, so we exchange short messages then after that I didn’t hear anything from him. I also stop checking my profile after that because I got busy with work and I was into couchsurfing as well.

In April of 2013, I lost my job and I decided to check my profile and see what’s going on there. Two weeks after my birthday I got a message from Marc saying:

I replied to this message by saying, "Wow, you really? We did choose each other? That would be something amazing!"

Marc then responded to my message with something like this, "Well, actually it was an automated response to our match but what I'm writing is really from me. My name is Marc. Please to meet you. Are you living in the Philippines currently?"

It felt so awkward because I sounded so silly for assuming things that way I see it, haha! Anyway, that’s how everything started. From that day on we never stop talking to each other. It feels like our day feels complete if we talk and get a message from one another every day. Until such time our constant communication blossoms into something special and we call it LOVE. Yes, we FELL IN LOVE.

In August of 2013, Marc decided to go the Philippines for two weeks just to see me. Things were going pretty well for both us. There was no awkwardness or shyness between us. We do a lot of silly and fun stuff together. We both feel so bonded with one another and being with each other brings out the best in us. Marc and I are glued together because we are so inseparable and we both feel that we already found our long lost soul mate. We had the same feeling that we have known each other for a long time, even though we have been together for just a short time. Few days before he had to go back to Canada, we decided to get married. We both know that things went out too fast, but for us it is the right thing to do and we are ready to step on the next chapter of our life. We sit down and discussed things over and over again, the bottom line is we both wanted to get married. We don’t want to lose each other, but instead we want to spend the rest of our lives together.

Marc and I have to continue our long distance relationship and at the same planning for our upcoming wedding. The distance does not stop us from loving and reaching out with one another. We have this very amazing connection that binds us together to make our love stronger each day. We should all know that love knows no distance because wherever you are in this world if you are meant to be with someone, love will always find a way.
